Anti-Money Laundering Policy
Our commitment to preventing money laundering and financial crime.
⚠ This policy applies to all users of convertyourgiftcards.co.uk and cashifygcmart.com. Breaches may result in transaction suspension and reporting to authorities.
Cashify GC Mart Ltd is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. We operate in compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Terrorism Act 2000, the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, and related UK legislation.
1. Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
We apply customer due diligence measures to verify the identity of customers where required. This includes:
- Collecting name, email, and contact details for all transactions.
- Requesting photo ID (passport, driving licence) for transactions over £500.
- Verifying proof of address for high-value or repeat transactions.
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) or high-risk customers.
2. Suspicious Activity Reporting
We are legally obligated to report suspicions of money laundering to the National Crime Agency (NCA) via a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR). We will report any transaction or attempted transaction where we reasonably suspect it involves the proceeds of crime.
We are prohibited by law from informing you ("tipping off") if a SAR has been filed relating to your activity.
3. Record Keeping
We maintain records of all customer identity verification and transaction data for a minimum of 5 years from the date of the transaction or the end of the business relationship, whichever is later.
4. Prohibited Transactions
We will not knowingly process:
- Gift cards obtained through fraud, theft, or any criminal activity.
- Transactions where we have reasonable grounds to suspect money laundering or terrorist financing.
- Transactions from customers on HM Treasury sanctions lists.
- Transactions where the customer refuses to provide required identity documentation.
5. Staff Training
All staff with access to customer data and transactions are trained on AML obligations, how to identify suspicious activity, and their reporting responsibilities.
6. Risk Assessment
We conduct ongoing risk assessments of our services, customers, and transactions to identify and mitigate money laundering risks.
7. Non-Compliance
Any individual found to be using our platform for money laundering will have their transaction cancelled, their details reported to the relevant authorities, and may be subject to civil or criminal proceedings.
